Fyah Mawi is a Jamaican roots reggae artist whose music carries a message of strength, justice, unity, love and peace.
Born in 1967 at Jubilee Hospital in Kingston, Jamaica, Fyah Mawi discovered music at an early age. Growing up surrounded by the rhythms, melodies and culture of reggae, he developed a deep connection to conscious music and later shaped a distinctive sound that blends traditional roots reggae with a modern edge.
His breakthrough arrived in 2016 with the debut single “I’m Not Fighting”, a release that introduced his voice and message to reggae listeners in the UK and internationally.
He followed with a growing catalogue of releases including Rome Don’t Want I Speak, In Her Eye’s, Colonize, Music As A Weapon and Peace Within My Walls.
Working with Menen Records, Fyah Mawi has remained committed to independent, authentic reggae. His songs combine infectious rhythms with thoughtful lyrics addressing social injustice, personal strength, human dignity and the need for peace.
Fyah Mawi’s music is more than entertainment. It is a platform for education, reflection and positive change—roots reggae created to uplift the listener while staying true to the culture that inspired him.
